ORIGINAL ROUGH DRAFT
Here's the official first draft and rough run through of the song, recorded on my iPhone. I keep tweaking until I've got the words and cadence just right, then I go to the studio.
ARTWORK CONCEPT
'Bad' kicked off the direction that the art ended up at. Originally, 'Bad' was supposed to be the announcement single but that changed to 'Cross The Line'. 'Skin' was supposed to be the next one but it changed to 'I Dont'. These pieces are drafts for the 'Skin' single cover.
We were full speed ahead with the bottom-left piece. I loved the vintage look with the burn spot which was a metaphor that the music has layers. Under the artwork and branding, theres words and a message. The way the guy is mesmerized by the young woman who's stretching just captured the whole song. With that one look.
MAKING THE VIDEO
'Skin' is special. Nobody outside the production team has heard the song but we filmed the video in November. This is short and not like the other 'Making Of' videos but it was filmed live that night and really captures the process plus the fun we were having.
